A New Perspective on Intentional Living

For singer Teddy Swims, the transition into parenthood has brought a profound shift in his approach to daily life. The 33-year-old artist, known for his hit "Mr. Know It All," emphasizes that his primary focus has moved toward being fully engaged in the current moment. Reflecting on his new mindset, he notes that he is prioritizing "being where my feet are" above all else, ensuring that every action is taken with greater intention.

Swims, who welcomed his son Theodore in June 2025 with former partner Raiche Wright, acknowledges that his busy career makes it impossible to attend every single milestone. Because of these constraints, he strives to be completely immersed in the time he does have, valuing quality interaction over quantity.

The Value of Simple Moments

The musician finds that slowing down to observe his 13-month-old son has been a grounding experience. He describes the joy found in quiet, unfiltered interactions—whether it is simply sitting with his child, putting his phone away, or maintaining eye contact. "He just wants you to look at him in the eyes," Swims explains. "He just wants you to be there and see what he’s doing... That’s become the most important thing to me."

Swims admits that while it might seem sentimental, he is committed to "making the time count." He credits his son with helping him cut through the "draining" nature of the digital age, where social media often pressures individuals to constantly compare their lives to the curated successes of others.

Maintaining Connections While on Tour

Even when his international "The Ugly Tour" keeps him away from home, Swims utilizes technology to maintain a bond with his son. He makes a point to video call daily, adjusting to time zone differences to catch his son during meal times. While he recognizes that he only gets brief windows of attention from a one-year-old, he remains incredibly grateful for the ability to connect face-to-face, acknowledging that many others in his profession lack that luxury.

Collaborating with White Claw

Beyond his music, Swims has partnered with White Claw for a summer-themed collection. The collaboration features a unique, bear-shaped pool floatie that reflects his personal style, complete with a mustache, built-in waterproof Bluetooth speaker, a cooler, and cup holders. He believes the brand aligns with his current philosophy, stating:

«White Claw is like the perfect situation because it’s all about that, just being where your feet are. Being with those people and making that time so valuable, because time is just that thing, especially watching this little creature grow so fast.»

The limited-edition collection is scheduled to launch exclusively at whiteclaw.com on Thursday, July 16, at 9 a.m. ET, while supplies last.
