A Star-Studded Family Celebration

Julia Roberts was recently seen in Idaho, joining the wedding celebrations for her niece, Emma Roberts, and her new husband, Cody John. The 58-year-old actress attended the private ceremony alongside her husband, Danny Moder, following reports that the couple had been spotted arriving in the state just a day prior to the nuptials.

Details of the Intimate Ceremony

Emma Roberts, 35, and Cody John, 36, exchanged vows on Saturday, July 25, in an intimate outdoor setting. The couple opted for a small gathering of close friends and family, with the ceremony notably decorated with numerous white roses. Among the notable participants were the bride's stylists, Brit and Kara Elkin, who served as bridesmaids. The wedding party also included Emma's mother, Kelly Cunningham, and other close family members and friends.

The Bride’s Vintage-Inspired Vision

The actress worked closely with designer Monique Lhuillier to create a custom wedding gown that captured her specific aesthetic. Reflecting on the process, Emma shared her unique inspiration for the design:

«I didn’t really know what I wanted at first. I just knew that I wanted it to feel very vintage-inspired. I’m obsessed with antique books and treasure hunting, and I love collecting old ephemera, so I really wanted that to shine through in the dress. I kind of wanted to look like a ghost — a little antique ghost doll.»

Dress Features and Reception Style

The resulting gown was crafted from silk chiffon, offering an ethereal and romantic look. Key features included:

  • Convertible design: The strapless dress featured a removable off-the-shoulder shawl.
  • Afterparty attire: For the reception, Emma transitioned into an archival black corset dress from the same designer.

Explaining her choice for the reception, Emma remarked, «I love the idea of wearing black for the afterparty. We love doing something that’s a little unexpected. This looks like it could be totally vintage from 100 years ago, or from now.»
