The Legal Filing

Court documents reveal that 42-year-old reality television personality Courtney Robertson has formally initiated divorce proceedings against her husband, Humberto Preciado. The filing, submitted on June 26, characterizes the state of their marriage as “irretrievably broken.”

In her legal request, Robertson is seeking joint legal decision-making regarding the couple's three young children—Joaquin, 6, Paloma, 4, and Gabriel, 2. Furthermore, she has petitioned the court for final decision-making authority concerning the children's welfare and requested that the court determine a parenting schedule that prioritizes the children's best interests. Additionally, the filings include requests for both child and spousal support, as well as an order for Preciado to cover her legal expenses.

A Difficult Decision

The filing follows a public announcement made by Robertson shortly after the couple decided to end their six-year union. In a statement provided to the media, she revealed that the decision came after she uncovered information that fundamentally eroded her trust in her husband.

«This has been one of the hardest seasons of my life, and as I continue to process everything, my focus remains on my three beautiful children. They are, and always will be, my highest priority,» Robertson stated. She expressed a desire for a peaceful transition, emphasizing her commitment to maintaining a respectful co-parenting dynamic for the sake of her family.

Looking Back at Their Relationship

Robertson and Preciado first connected via social media in 2019. At the time of their early relationship, the former reality star spoke fondly of the bond they shared. In an interview from December 2019, she noted, «There was just a level of comfort and connection that I’ve never felt before. I never believed in that feeling of when you know, you know until I met him.» At that stage, she described him as the first partner with whom she truly envisioned starting a family.
