The representative’s office characterized the situation as a calculated effort to damage her reputation. The spokesperson added: «This is nothing more than a politically motivated stunt designed to manipulate the ethics process, create headlines, smear her, and generate clickbait.»

The controversy stems from a sworn statement submitted to the House Committee on Ethics by David Wheeler of American Muckrakers. According to reports, the complaint alleges that Boebert had inappropriate sexual conduct with two female and one male staffer. Furthermore, the filing claims that the congresswoman attempted to suppress an ethics complaint from one of the staffers by orchestrating a $200,000 hush money payment.
In response to these specific claims, Boebert’s representative noted: «[These accusations] come from an activist who has long recycled sensational claims, including numerous baseless accusations previously fact-checked as false.»
