During a recent event at the Brooklyn Bridge Marina, Rhys addressed the possibility of reuniting with his partner for future projects, including the popular series Widow’s Bay.
Regarding a potential crossover, Rhys jokingly remarked on his efforts to join Russell’s current hit, The Diplomat: «Well, Keri and I discussed that. And then I discussed coming on The Diplomat and then playing Tom Loftis on The Diplomat, which is usually met with silence.»
While the prospect of working together is appealing, the 51-year-old actor emphasized that they are cautious about forcing a reunion. He noted, «There’s the danger if you’re trying to recreate something. If the right project came about and that made sense for us to be both in it. Because I think there’s a degree of, ‘Oh, you know why they’re doing it.’»

«The question I’ve been asking creator Katie Dippold the most is, ‘What is the curse? The monster? The island? What is it?’ So I’m so intrigued as to whether it’s something physical and tangible to be reasoned with or something inside us. I have no idea. I just know I’m glad I’m not writing it.»
He also shared a humorous theory about how the plot might unfold, suggesting that a return of Hamish Linklater’s character, Richard, could serve as an ongoing, supernatural-like nuisance to his own character.
