A Middle-earth Mini-Reunion
The fellowship remains strong as stars from The Lord of the Rings recently enjoyed a rare get-together. Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Billy Boyd, and Dominic Monaghan met up for a casual evening, much to the delight of fans of the fantasy franchise.
Sean Astin shared the news on social media, posting a group selfie with the caption, “The band’s all here.” Dominic Monaghan also provided a glimpse into their night out in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where the group enjoyed dinner at La Royal. He humorously captioned the event, noting: “Four Halflings. Three cocktails. Two desserts. ONE great night of conversation.”
Life Beyond the Shire
Since the conclusion of the blockbuster trilogy, Elijah Wood has opted for a more low-key lifestyle, focusing primarily on his family. Wood and his partner, Mette-Marie Kongsved, are raising two children. In a recent interview, the actor admitted that he hasn't shown his famous films to his kids just yet. “I feel like it might be appropriate when they are 8,” he explained, noting that fatherhood has been an incredibly consuming and rewarding experience for him.
New Cinematic Endeavors
While valuing his privacy, Wood has recently returned to the big screen. He is set to star in the upcoming horror film Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, alongside Samara Weaving. Discussing the project, Wood described it as an action-packed film with distinct horror elements.
«The reason that horror never goes away is that, as a society, we always have something to be afraid of in real life, but horror is a safe way to experience fear because nothing’s actually going to happen. It’s cathartic.»
