The Countdown to the Finale
The latest season of Love Island USA is rapidly approaching its conclusion. Following weeks of romantic developments, intense breakups, and emotional highs, the reality experiment is set to wrap up on Sunday, July 12. As the show enters its final stretch, the remaining contestants will be narrowed down to the final four couples, with the ultimate decision on the winners resting in the hands of the voting public.
The Final Rituals
Staying true to the show's traditions, each of the finalist couples will enjoy a final romantic date. Following these outings, they are tasked with writing personal “vows” to one another, reaffirming their connection before the results are revealed.
The climactic “envelope ceremony” takes place on the final night. The couple securing the most votes from viewers is presented with two envelopes. One contains a $100,000 cash prize, while the other is empty. The winner holding the cash envelope faces a high-stakes choice: share the money with their partner to prove their dedication or walk away with the entire sum, prioritizing the prize over the relationship.
Behind the Scenes: Controversies and Departures
Season 8 has been marked by significant off-screen turmoil. Several contestants were removed from the production in Fiji following the discovery of past social media activity involving the use of racial slurs.
Among those removed was Casa Amor contestant Alannah Keyser, who faced intense public scrutiny after an old video resurfaced. Addressing the situation on TikTok, Keyser stated:
«I do want to begin by addressing the video of me singing along to a Roddy Ricch song that contains a racial slur. I’m sorry to whoever has seen that video and has been offended by it. That was never my intention. The video is from six years ago and that word is just not in my vocabulary anymore.»
Keyser further denied allegations regarding other circulating screenshots, adding, “I do want to say directly that I do not support racism or discrimination of any kind and I never have.” Other participants, including Vasana Montgomery and Season 7’s Cierra Ortega, were also dismissed from the program earlier for similar transgressions related to past behavior on social media.
How to Watch
Fans can follow the remaining drama as the show barrels toward the finish line. New episodes of Love Island USA are available for streaming on Peacock six days a week, with the exception of Wednesdays.
