Following recent speculation regarding the future of the hit series Tulsa King, executives have provided clarity regarding its status as creator Taylor Sheridan prepares for his transition to NBCUniversal. Paramount+ originals head Jane Wiseman addressed the situation, confirming that the show is moving forward. “We’re about to announce the premiere date for Tulsa King season 4, that one is coming out. It’s an incredible season. Sly [Stallone] is in great form in the show, and there’s going to be some surprises. But that show is continuing,” Wiseman stated.
Long-Term Outlook and Production Pipeline
When asked about the possibility of the series extending beyond its fourth season, Wiseman suggested that the brand's future remains robust. She highlighted a significant slate of upcoming projects, noting, “Between Tulsa and Landman, which Taylor is writing right now, Frisco, Dutton, Madison, we have a lot of business, and we’re going to be in business for time to come.”

The production has seen various shifts since its inception. Terence Winter, who initially served as showrunner, stepped down from the role following the renewal for season 2 due to creative differences, though he remained on the team as the head writer. Regarding Sheridan’s professional trajectory, he has finalized a major five-year agreement with NBCUniversal. This contract, which encompasses film, television, and streaming, is scheduled to commence on January 1, 2029, immediately following the conclusion of his existing television deal with Paramount. Paramount will maintain the rights to Yellowstone and other established franchises, meaning Sheridan will focus on developing new intellectual properties for NBCUniversal following the merger between Paramount and Skydance Media.
