A Cozy Look Behind the Scenes

Taylor Swift recently gave fans an intimate look at the production of her music video for the single “Patient Zero.” The behind-the-scenes reel, shared by the 36-year-old artist via Spotify on Tuesday, October 13, offers a glimpse into the creative process—and some heartfelt interactions with her partner, Travis Kelce.

During the shoot, which took place at a lavish $47 million Beverly Hills estate back in March, 37-year-old Kelce was seen supporting the singer. In the footage, the NFL star is captured standing behind Swift while she collaborated with the video's co-star, Dakota Johnson. As Swift sat in her director’s chair, Kelce was filmed resting his hands on her shoulders, sporting a wide, affectionate smile. In another quiet moment between takes, the singer was seen leaning her head into his chest.

The couple also displayed a coordinated sense of style for the occasion. Swift wore a cream-colored knit top, matching the aesthetic of Kelce, who donned a shirt in a similar hue paired with an Elwood baseball cap.

Inspiration Behind “Patient Zero”

Swift, who officially announced the track as a new single on an extended edition of her 2025 project The Life of a Showgirl, has previously shared the personal story that sparked the song's lyrics. During a radio interview with Capital FM in the U.K. last month, she explained how a casual gathering with friends led to the track's concept.

«The story behind me writing the song ‘Patient Zero’ is that I was hanging out with a bunch of friends, and one of my friends told us that she had been reached out to by the new girlfriend of an ex of hers, asking for guidance on if she had had the same experiences with this guy,» Swift shared.

The conversation resonated deeply with her friend group. Swift noted that everyone present immediately shared similar personal anecdotes. She continued:

«I thought to myself, ‘If this has happened to all of us, it’s such an interesting kind of angle on humanity and on relationships, and I wonder if I could write something from the perspective of getting this phone call, and really only from the perspective and the side of the phone call of the ex who’s been through it before.»

Gratitude to Collaborators

Following the video's premiere at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles, Swift took to Instagram to express her appreciation for those who helped bring the project to life.

She extended special thanks to Dakota Johnson and co-star Colin for their dedication, adding, «Giggling with your friend because you’re twinning for an entire shoot was a new and truly delightful experience.» Swift also praised Colin’s performance as the video’s villain and thanked Cara Delevingne for taking on the role of the «lusty other woman,» joking, «That’s what friends are for?»
