A Fresh Start for Sophie Cunningham

Indiana Fever standout Sophie Cunningham is making her return to the podcasting world. However, the relaunch comes with a significant change: her former long-term co-host, West Wilson, is no longer part of the project.

On Thursday, September 10, the official account for her podcast announced the comeback via X. “Sophie Cunningham is BACK with world-renowned basketball trainer Drew Hanlen,” the statement read. The production, now rebranded from “Show Me Something” to “No Hesitation,” will feature new installments every Thursday, with the inaugural episode debuting immediately following the announcement.

Cunningham, 30, expressed her excitement about the venture on Instagram, sharing, “The podcast is back babyyyy.”

Background on the Co-host Departure

The separation of the former co-hosting duo follows a period of public friction regarding the inclusion of transgender athletes in sports. In July, West Wilson took to TikTok to address the debate, arguing that the presence of trans athletes in American sports is statistically negligible. He stated:

«Right-wingers have convinced a massive portion of people in our country that these people are, like, a threat to sports in America, when mathematically it’s not the case at all. And by continuing to platform this — politicians, athletes, journalists, news outlets — you’re only isolating transgender people even more by making them seem like this giant group of people is a threat to society, a threat to sports, when that’s just not proportionately the truth in any capacity.»

Cunningham’s Stance on WNBA Inclusion

Wilson’s commentary surfaced shortly after an ESPN profile highlighted Cunningham’s perspective, in which she explicitly stated that she does not support the inclusion of trans women in the WNBA. Following the publication of that profile, the Fever guard reinforced her position during a team practice, labeling her views as “common sense.”

During her media availability, Cunningham elaborated on her perspective:

«I think I’ll always believe in that. I think it’s really important to protect children. I think there is room for absolutely everyone here and I think there’s room to love everyone. I truly think when you get people in the same room and have conversations, you have a lot in common with a lot of people. I’m there to love, but I’m also there to love biological women and I think there are rights that need to be protected.»
