Production on Season 5 of the Hulu series 'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' is set to resume after an abrupt hiatus caused by a domestic abuse investigation involving cast member Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex, Dakota Mortensen. Us Weekly confirmed the restart, though details on the returning cast remain unclear.
The hiatus began in March after news broke of a domestic incident between Taylor and Dakota. Police confirmed an open 'domestic assault investigation' with allegations made by both parties. Taylor claimed there was 'more to the context,' while Dakota denied publicizing the dispute, prioritizing their son's protection.
Subsequently, TMZ released footage from a 2023 incident showing Taylor throwing a chair at Dakota, which led to her arrest and a guilty plea to aggravated assault. Following the video's release, Dakota filed a protective order and sought custody. Relatedly, Taylor's season of 'The Bachelorette' was canceled.
In April, prosecutors announced Taylor would face no charges for a separate February incident, a decision she celebrated on social media. Dakota later posted about focusing on a stable environment for their son, disputing the public portrayal of events.
