Rebecca King-Crews, the wife of actor and former NFL player Terry Crews, has publicly revealed her battle with Parkinson's disease. The fashion designer shared that she was formally diagnosed in 2015 after three years of symptoms, meaning she has been living with the condition for about a decade.
Her decision to speak out follows a recently approved medical procedure she underwent to help manage the disease. "I feel good," King-Crews said in a joint interview with Crews on NBC's 'Today'. "I'm able to write my name and my dates, and I'm able to write with my right hand for the first time in probably three years." She reported seeing improvement in her symptoms and is scheduled for a second procedure in September to address numbness and tremors on her left side.
"I really believe that this new procedure and others like it are the new frontier of medicine," she stated, highlighting the non-invasive nature of the treatment. King-Crews, who also underwent a double mastectomy after a 2020 breast cancer diagnosis, expressed hope that sharing her story would make the treatment more accessible and give hope to others.
Terry Crews emotionally described the difficulty of watching his wife's journey, citing her tremors, sleep loss, and balance issues. He was moved to see her write her name again after years of struggle. The couple share five adult children.
