A Lighthearted Message to the Royal Children
During a recent guest appearance on the Heart Breakfast radio show, Prince William shared a candid moment regarding his family life. While discussing his travels in the Isles of Scilly, the Prince of Wales took the opportunity to send a playful message to his children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
During the broadcast, William noted that his eldest son, 12-year-old Prince George, was away at boarding school. He jokingly reminded his other children, «Charlotte and Louis, because George is boarding last night, so Charlotte, Louis, if you’re listening, make sure you’re on time, please. Make sure you’re not fighting over who’s listening to what this morning.»
Educational Transition for the Future King
Prince George, the eldest of William and Princess Kate’s three children, currently attends Lambrook School alongside his younger siblings. While the school offers flexible boarding options for students aged 7 to 13, the Prince's recent comments suggest that George is utilizing these programs as a stepping stone toward a more permanent boarding arrangement in the near future.
Speculation regarding George’s secondary education has been widespread. In 2023, the young royal was seen visiting Eton College with his parents, leading many to believe he may enroll there soon. Another potential option mentioned in reports is Marlborough College, the alma mater of the Princess of Wales. Should he attend Marlborough, which is co-educational, he would eventually be joined by Charlotte and Louis.
Preparing for Future Responsibilities
As the second in line to the British throne, George’s upbringing remains a subject of public interest. While experts suggest the young prince is well aware of his future responsibilities, his parents are focused on providing him with a balanced childhood.
Prince William recently touched upon his hopes for the future of the monarchy and his children during an appearance on The Reluctant Traveler. The Prince remarked, «Obviously, I want to create a world in which my son is proud of what we do, a world and a job that actually does impact people’s lives for the better.» He further emphasized his commitment to fostering a modern environment for his children, stating, «I hope we don’t go back to some of the practices in the past that [my brother Prince] Harry and I had to grow up in, and I’ll do everything I can to make sure we don’t regress in that situation.»
