Details of the Alleged Kidnapping

A Pennsylvania man, 30-year-old Tylar Greenough, is facing severe criminal charges, including kidnapping to inflict injury and aggravated assault. Authorities allege that Greenough broke into his ex-girlfriend’s residence in Uniontown by climbing through a second-story window on August 28. According to Fayette County District Attorney Mike Aubele, the suspect held the woman, her young child, and her grandmother captive for the entire weekend.

Motivations and Threats

Official police documents indicate that Greenough was allegedly driven by jealousy after discovering his ex-girlfriend had started a new relationship. During the incident, the suspect reportedly subjected the victims to physical violence both at the residence and a nearby hotel. Investigators claim that Greenough threatened the woman, stating that he intended for her to

“watch everyone get killed before he killed her.”

Forced Confrontation and Attempts to Escape

The situation escalated when Greenough allegedly forced the victim to drive to a location to meet the man she had been seeing. During this period, the grandmother and the baby were reportedly confined to the trunk of the car. When the other man entered the vehicle, Greenough—who was in the backseat—attempted to grab him. After the man fled, Greenough allegedly took control of the driver's seat and unsuccessfully attempted to strike the man with the vehicle. He also allegedly coerced his ex-girlfriend into filing a false police report against the man, accusing him of sexual assault.

Arrest and Legal Status

The ordeal ended when Greenough brought the victims back to the Uniontown home. On August 31, once Greenough had left for work, the women contacted law enforcement to report the crimes. Greenough was later taken into custody on Tuesday after returning to his ex-girlfriend’s home while she was away. Despite being prohibited from carrying firearms due to a prior felony record, he was found to be in possession of a gun at the time of his arrest. Investigators believe he had vandalized the property shortly before being detained.
