Request for Property Maintenance
Joseph Duggar, 31, is currently seeking judicial permission to perform essential maintenance on several real estate assets he owns. The request stems from a need to access properties situated within a 500-foot radius of his alleged victim's home, which is currently prohibited by the terms of his bond.
According to legal documents filed on Monday, May 18, Duggar’s legal team emphasized that the proximity issue has changed. The filing states: “The alleged victim and her family have abandoned their residence, no longer residing at the previously listed address.”
Details of the Requested Work
Duggar has identified six specific properties in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, that require immediate attention. Two of these locations are currently vacant. The former reality television personality, who shares four young children with his wife, Kendra Duggar, outlined a comprehensive list of necessary improvements for these sites, including:
- Interior painting
- Carpet installation
- Sheetrock repairs
- Replacement of tile flooring
- General landscaping and lawn maintenance
Background on Legal Restrictions
Since his release on a $600,000 bond on March 31, Duggar has been subject to strict conditions, including a ban on contacting the alleged victim and a prohibition on unsupervised visits with minors under the age of 18, including his own children. He has recently filed to modify the no-contact order, noting that the child victim involved in the criminal case is not his biological child.
Duggar was arrested on March 18 on suspicion of lewd and lascivious behavior involving a victim under the age of 12. Following his arrest, both he and his wife, Kendra, were charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and multiple counts of second-degree false imprisonment. Both have pleaded not guilty to the charges. According to reports from the time of their arrests, the charges against Kendra were separate from the allegations of child sex abuse brought against her husband.
