Jesikah Suggs, a writer and producer known for her contributions to the Netflix hit My Life With The Walter Boys, has passed away at the age of 32. She died on August 18 at her residence in Studio City, California, following a courageous eight-year struggle with breast cancer.
A Legacy of Resilience
Her family confirmed the news of her passing on Tuesday, August 25. Suggs was initially diagnosed with the disease at age 24, and though the cancer eventually metastasized two years later, she remained dedicated to her craft.
Reflecting on her sister's strength, Liz Suggs shared the following sentiment:
«Through it all, she showed up to work every day, eager to defy being defined by cancer. Jes, once again, courageously endured and triumphed through every treatment imaginable, and she did it with a smile on her face and love for all the healthcare workers who poured their care into her.»
Liz added that Suggs' impact on the industry will endure through the writers she inspired and mentored, stating, «Her life will continue to bear fruit in the stories told by every writer she touched.»
Professional Achievements and Personal Reflections
Suggs gained significant recognition for her work on My Life With The Walter Boys, where she served as both a writer and producer. The series features actors Nikki Rodriguez, Noah LaLonde, and Ashby Gentry.
During her journey, Suggs was vocal about the support she received from her inner circle. In 2018, she opened up about undergoing chemotherapy, expressing deep gratitude for those who supported her throughout her twenties, which she described as a period of unexpected health challenges.
In a personal reflection, she wrote, «The cup of humanity sucks and is hard to swallow sometimes. The past three years were not ones I expected to live in my twenties. But that same cup also runneth over even in the darkest times—and often the most in the darkest times—because of love from all of you.»

A memorial service honoring her life took place in Los Angeles on August 22. Her family has announced that a second service is scheduled for the following weekend in Grapevine, Texas.
