A Heartfelt Message for the Newlyweds
Following the star-studded wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, Glennon Doyle and Abby Wambach reached out to the couple with a touching sentiment. In a joint Instagram post shared on Sunday, July 5, the pair expressed their genuine well-wishes for the newlyweds.
«Taylor and Travis, Before Abby and I fell asleep that magical night, the last thing we discussed was our hope for you. We hope that you feel so surrounded by concentric circles of love and support from your family, friends and global admirers that you enter your new marriage era knowing this: You’re not on your own, kids. You never will be.»
The post was signed, «We love you, Abby and Glennon (Your Retired English teacher and PE teacher).» The couple also shared photos from the ceremony, which took place on Friday, July 3, at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, showcasing their elegant attire for the occasion.
A Long-Standing Connection
The bond between Swift and the couple spans many years. In 2015, during the 1989 Tour, Swift famously brought Wambach and the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team onto the stage. Furthermore, Swift has frequently noted that Doyle’s memoir, Untamed, served as a primary inspiration for her albums Folklore and Evermore.
Inside the Spectacular Ceremony
The wedding of 36-year-old Swift and 36-year-old Kelce was attended by approximately 1,000 guests. The ceremony featured comedian Adam Sandler as the officiant. Instead of a standard wedding party, the roles of “man of honor” and best man were filled by Austin Swift and Jason Kelce, respectively. The festivities were marked by a celebratory atmosphere outside Madison Square Garden, highlighted by digital billboards displaying the message: «JusT&T Married.»
The wedding attire received significant attention. According to a statement from Swift’s publicist, the couple's outfits were crafted by Christian Dior Haute Couture, designed by Jonathan Anderson. The statement noted, «This is the designer’s first couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity. [Both of] their shoes were custom made by Christian Louboutin and the bride wore Cartier jewelry.»
Other attendees also shared in the joy, with Jessica Alba posting behind-the-scenes glimpses from the preparations, writing, «We love love. Congrats to T&T — such a beautiful night celebrating you.»
