A Nostalgic Musical Reunion
Fans of the iconic musical series Glee were treated to an unexpected surprise this past weekend. Nearly ten years after the beloved Fox show concluded, former cast members Chris Colfer and Darren Criss took the stage together once more. The duo performed a rendition of “Baby It’s Cold Outside” on Sunday, October 18, during Criss’s exclusive concert at the Royal Albert Hall.
Colfer, 36, who portrayed Kurt Hummel, jokingly remarked to the audience as he joined Criss on stage: «The only thing inappropriate about doing this song is doing it without me.» The track, originally composed by Frank Loesser in 1944, has become a staple cover for many artists throughout the decades.
Revisiting Iconic Chemistry
Criss, 39, known for his role as Blaine Anderson, initially opened the performance by telling the crowd he felt perfectly capable of singing both parts of the duet—a song their characters famously performed during the show’s second season in 2010.
This rare appearance follows a series of sporadic reunions among the show’s cast. Earlier this year, Kevin McHale and Matthew Morrison caught up with Jonathan Groff backstage at his Broadway production, Just In Time. Other notable gatherings include a group appearance by Jane Lynch, Amber Riley, and Heather Morris on the game show Celebrity Weakest Link in September 2025.
Life Beyond Glee and Future Hopes
Since the conclusion of Glee, Criss has successfully diversified his career. He garnered critical acclaim for his lead role in the 2018 series The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story and has remained highly active in theater, including his work as a performer and producer for Maybe Happy Ending.
The excitement surrounding the series has been further fueled by recent comments from Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy. In late September, Murphy revealed that he has finalized a script for a potential revival of the show. Murphy noted that he has already been in contact with several original cast members, including Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, Kevin McHale, and Amber Riley, regarding the project.
