Public Outcry Over Houseguest Conduct
Frankie Grande has expressed strong disapproval regarding comments made by Big Brother contestant Kamu Kirk. Grande took to social media to demand that Kirk be removed from the show after Kirk voiced his refusal to participate in activities involving drag.
In a series of posts on X, Grande stated:
“Get these homophobic bigots out of the f*ing house IMMEDIATELY. Ew this conversation makes me sick to my stomach. I’m disgusted.”Grande’s reaction followed a clip circulating from the show’s live feeds, which captured a conversation between Kirk and fellow contestant Rick Devens.
The Context of the Controversy
The incident occurred while the houseguests were discussing teammate Drew Campbell, who was wearing themed pajamas. During the exchange, Devens asked if the group was referring to “dudes dressed in women’s clothes.” Kirk responded by stating,
“I’m not doing that bro. Miss me with the drag stuff. I’m still an MMA guy, and I have an image to uphold.”
Although these comments were not explicitly directed at housemate Jason De Puy—a professional drag queen known as Salina EsTitties—Grande defended De Puy, citing their personal friendship and their shared connection to the LGBTQIA+ community.
Refining the Stance
While Grande initially targeted both Kirk and Devens in his criticism, he later adjusted his perspective regarding Devens. He noted,
“Ok. I concede there is not enough info in the clip to understand [Devens’] motivations. Regardless, men behaving in a repulsed or shocked way when a man dresses feminine or in women’s clothing is homophobic. Period.”
Current Status in the House
Jason De Puy is currently facing a precarious situation in the game, as he has been placed on the block for potential eviction by Head of Household Rick Devens. Alongside De Puy, Melody Morris and Rome Seymour are also at risk. The houseguests are set to compete in the “BB Block Buster” event, which will determine who gains safety prior to the upcoming live vote.
