Dwight Howard’s estranged wife is requesting temporary alimony, stating she cannot sustain her lifestyle during their contentious divorce proceedings.

Court documents reveal that Amy Luciani, also known as Amber Howard, claims she and Howard agreed she would be a stay-at-home wife throughout their marriage.

Luciani, 35, says she is currently unemployed and fully dependent on the NBA player, whom she refers to as the primary breadwinner. She highlights that Howard has a substantial income as a professional basketball player.

According to her filing, Luciani relied on Howard for financial stability and support, as he was the sole provider for the family. She asserts she dedicated her life to caring for the household and family.

Without alimony, she fears being unable to afford housing or cover daily expenses. Luciani also requests $20,000 from Howard to pay for legal representation in the ongoing divorce, claiming the litigation has already caused financial strain.

She is asking the court to schedule a hearing as soon as possible to address her demands for temporary alimony and legal fees. As of now, no ruling has been made.

Howard filed for divorce on March 9, citing an irretrievably broken marriage with no hope of reconciliation. This marks the third attempt to end their marriage after just one year. The couple has no children together.

Howard previously noted a gun in his home accessible to Luciani, expressing concerns about potential deadly force. Luciani denied these claims, calling them retaliation for his own wrongdoings. A judge ordered her to stay 100 yards from Howard and his children, but Howard later dropped the protective order.
