Insights into Nathan Gallagher’s Current Path
Captain Sandy Yawn has provided an update regarding her relationship with former Below Deck Mediterranean colleague Nathan Gallagher in the wake of his domestic violence arrest in Australia. The 61-year-old captain shared her perspective during an interview on the Virtual Reali-Tea podcast.
“Nathan struggles,” Yawn stated. “We talk, and I encourage him to stop drinking and get help.”
Legal Background and Employment Status
Gallagher, 30, faced legal action in December following an alleged incident involving a 29-year-old woman, occurring shortly after the conclusion of filming for the show's 11th season. Police documentation indicated that he was charged with multiple offenses, including assault occasioning actual bodily harm and intentionally choking a person without consent. After failing to appear in court, he was convicted on three counts of domestic violence. Consequently, Bravo terminated his employment with the network.
Efforts Toward Personal Change
According to Captain Sandy, Gallagher appears to be following her guidance regarding his personal conduct. “He’s going to meetings and he’s trying to change his life,” she noted. “The next part of his life, hopefully, will be to face everything that he’s done.”
Gallagher’s Stance and Co-Parenting
In a previous statement to Rolling Stone, Gallagher acknowledged making mistakes, though he expressed a desire for his side of the story to be considered, citing video footage and messages that he believes provide necessary context to the situation. He also confirmed the end of his relationship with co-star Gael Cameron, with whom he shares a two-year-old son, Kayden. Regarding their future, Gallagher stated:
“My priority is being recognized as his father, establishing a relationship with him and ultimately finding a way for both of us to move forward and coparent peacefully.”
Gael Cameron’s Response
For her part, Cameron shared a message on social media in September, thanking followers for their support during a difficult time. She emphasized her focus on healing and rebuilding for the sake of her son, stating she has been working on finding herself again and moving forward.
