Details Emerge from Police Documentation

A comprehensive 72-page police report from the Clearwater Police Department has offered a somber look into the final moments of wrestling icon Hulk Hogan. The document, which marks the conclusion of the department's investigation into the death of the 71-year-old star—whose birth name was Terry Gene Bollea—reveals accounts from those present at the time of his passing on July 24, 2025.

The Last Moments as Witnessed by Caregivers

According to the report, Justin McCamey, Hogan’s occupational therapist, described the distressing scene to responding officer Jordan Bailey. McCamey stated that upon returning to the room, it became evident that the wrestler had stopped breathing. "The chest wasn’t elevating. Couldn’t wake him up… he just… stopped breathing," McCamey recounted to the officer.

Dana Swinton, a home health aide who was also in attendance, provided additional context regarding Hogan's condition earlier that morning. She noted that while his communication was somewhat muffled, he had been responsive and had eaten before being settled into a chair for a rest. Swinton explained the timeline, noting that the medical professionals realized something was critically wrong when McCamey returned from another room to perform a routine check of the patient's vitals.

"The patient was in the chair. By the time he came to do the vitals for the visit he’s on, there was no pulse," Swinton stated in the report.

Health Background and Investigation Conclusion

The documentation highlights the toll years of physical activity took on the legendary performer. McCamey informed authorities that Hogan’s health had been in severe decline following a recent operation. The therapist noted that the star had undergone roughly 20 to 30 surgical procedures on his back, hips, and knees throughout his career and provided a detailed list of his current medications to the investigators.

Following the completion of the probe, the Clearwater Police Department confirmed that there was no evidence of foul play. The department expressed gratitude toward Hogan’s wife, Sky Daily, as well as Swinton and McCamey, for their cooperation during such a difficult period. "Their willingness to allow our investigators access to very personal information, at a time when they were grieving and struggling, was extremely helpful," the department stated in its official findings.
