The Influence of Fatherhood on Personal Beliefs
For Nick Jonas, the journey of parenthood has served as a profound catalyst for personal evolution. During a recent appearance on the Hey Jonas! podcast, the 33-year-old artist opened up about how raising a child has shifted his perspective on life and spirituality.
Jonas noted that the current state of global instability has led many individuals to seek a stronger sense of purpose. For him, the responsibility of being a father was the primary driver that encouraged him to explore his own beliefs. As he explained, he wanted his work to reflect the idea that there is a broader design for every individual, regardless of their specific religious affiliation. «There is a plan for your life, and you don’t have to be a person that believes in Jesus and God to understand that there’s some plan in place,» he stated.
Artistic Collaboration and 'The Author'
Last month, Jonas released a faith-inspired single titled «The Author,» a project he created alongside Christian artist Brandon Lake. For Jonas, who shares 4-year-old daughter Malti with his wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, this track was an attempt to capture his sense of security and peace.
«I was really inspired to say, ‘How can I put this feeling that I know my life is in good hands into a song?’» Jonas reflected. He highlighted that the power of such collaborations lies in bridging different life experiences to create something impactful, grounded in both biblical principles and the universal language of love.
Reflecting on Faith in the Public Eye
During the podcast, Jonas also shared his thoughts on Justin Bieber’s recent performance at the Coachella Music Festival, where Bieber openly incorporated faith-based elements into his set, including singing gospel-oriented tracks and offering prayers.
Jonas described these actions as «beautiful.» While he clarified that Bieber’s performance did not influence his own collaboration with Lake — as his music session took place back in December 2025 — he acknowledged the cultural significance of such moments. According to Jonas, these public expressions of faith help foster essential dialogues regarding empathy and compassion during times when society may require them most.
