Doja Cat's Public Outburst Toward Elon Musk
Renowned artist Doja Cat recently took to her X account to demand the restoration of a specific audio posting feature. The 30-year-old musician did not mince words, delivering a series of harsh, colorful insults directed at the platform's owner, Elon Musk.
In her initial post, she wrote: «Hey elon if u see this please put the audio post feature back on here. Thanks, u frog build looking bitch. Barrel chested ewok u look like u eat sand.»
After followers noted she hadn't tagged the billionaire directly, she followed up with a second, more specific post:
«@elonmusk put the audio post feature back on this app. Thanks, you hairless no-neck havin, chimpanzee. Face look like it was drawn from memory. When u swim on ur back at the beach s* look like a man o’ war. Hourglass ankles. Not tryna be mean though sorry.»
Context of the Audio Feature
The feature in question, which allowed users to post voice recordings, was originally rolled out in June 2020. While the exact timeline for its removal remains unclear, X recently pivoted to a system where voice notes are primarily integrated into direct messaging via the XChat feature, as announced this past April. Elon Musk has held ownership of the platform since October 2022.
A Pattern of Public Confrontation
This is not the first time the singer has used social media to publicly challenge public figures. Earlier this year, she targeted actor Timothée Chalamet after he made dismissive comments regarding the relevance of ballet and opera. While Doja Cat initially criticized him, demanding proper respect for the performing arts, she later retracted her statements in a follow-up video.
In that later video, she admitted that her previous critique was a form of «virtue signaling,» explaining that she aimed to capitalize on a viral moment to connect with her audience. She candidly noted, «It’s a modern way to garner clicks, likes, approval, and all kinds of things like that from people. And so I did that yesterday, and I didn’t really think about why I was doing it.»
