A New Chapter Away from the U.S.

Singer Casandra Ventura, professionally known as Cassie, has officially established residency outside of the United States. Following the intense legal proceedings surrounding her ex-boyfriend Sean “Diddy” Combs, the 39-year-old performer has signaled a clean break from her former life in America.

According to court documents filed on May 1 in relation to a separate lawsuit against Clayton Howard, Ventura explicitly stated that she is no longer a resident of California. The legal filing further clarifies her long-term intentions, noting that she resides abroad and does not plan to move back to the U.S. Her legal team noted that for any future matters concerning the case, it would be significantly more convenient for her to travel to New York, where her counsel is based, rather than California.

Reflecting on the Diddy Trial

This relocation follows a tumultuous period for Ventura. In September 2024, Combs was indicted on charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for the purpose of prostitution. During the subsequent trial in 2025, Ventura provided testimony regarding their 11-year on-and-off relationship. Previously, in 2023, she had filed a separate lawsuit alleging physical and sexual abuse, which was settled out of court shortly after.

Ultimately, a jury found Combs guilty on two counts related to transportation, while acquitting him of the remaining charges. He is currently serving a four-year prison sentence. Throughout the trial, Ventura was supported by her husband, Alex Fine.

Family Support and Personal Resilience

During the legal proceedings, Fine publicly praised his wife’s courage while she faced her past on the stand. In a statement released in May 2025, Fine expressed his unwavering support:

“Over the past five days, the world has gotten to witness the strength and bravery of my wife freeing herself of her past. There has been speculation online surrounding how it must feel for me to sit there and listen to my wife’s testimony. I have felt so many things sitting there. I have felt tremendous pride and overwhelming love for Cass. I have felt profound anger that she has been subjected to sitting in front of a person who tried to break her.”

Ventura and Fine share three children: daughters Frankie, 7, and Sunny, 3, along with a son whose identity has remained private. The couple welcomed their youngest child while the trial was ongoing.
