A Glimpse Into a Challenging Health Journey

Brandi Glanville, the 53-year-old former star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, is pulling back the curtain on the severe health obstacles she has been navigating. In a recent social media update, the reality personality addressed concerns regarding her noticeable weight loss and fragile appearance.

"I know I’m so skinny right now. I can’t eat because the things I do … decreases my food. I feel like death. I look like death," Glanville shared in an Instagram video recorded in her home while preparing medical equipment.

The Demanding IV Regimen

Glanville detailed an exhausting medical schedule that consumes the majority of her day. She explained that she is currently undergoing antibiotic treatment via an infusion pump to combat a persistent infection.

"I just finished this IV, it’s Imipenum. It’s on a pump. I had to learn to do all these with the nurse. Now she comes four hours a day in the evenings to do my other IV but I have to do this IV before she comes... and I have that overnight. 18 hours a day. It’s a lot of setup," she stated.

According to medical information from the Cleveland Clinic, Imipenum is an antibiotic frequently administered alongside Cilastatin to treat various bacterial infections.

Opening Up About Life Behind Closed Doors

The star, who appeared in the video wearing exercise clothes with a visible bandage on her arm, emphasized that this update is only the beginning of a larger narrative. "For the first time, I’m showing you what my life has really looked like behind closed doors. The treatments. The IVs. The exhaustion. The days nobody saw," she wrote, noting that she is not yet prepared to discuss the full scope of her medical situation.

Her health battle has been ongoing for some time. In a previous episode of her podcast, Unfiltered, she mentioned that a non-cancerous tumor might be contributing to fluid retention in her face, which has affected her ability to wear makeup for extended periods. Looking toward recovery, Glanville noted in late 2025 that she has been attempting to establish a calmer environment to aid her healing process, stating, "I’m finally getting back to my normal routine and feeling like myself again."

Past Medical Transparency

Beyond her current IV treatments, Glanville has also been candid about past medical decisions. She recently discussed undergoing vaginal rejuvenation surgery in 2009. She attributed the decision to comments made by her then-husband, Eddie Cibrian, following the births of their children, stating that she felt pressured to alter her body due to his remarks about the changes she experienced after childbirth.
